The PGA Jr. League is a national program designed to better socialize the game for junior boys and girls, age 13 and under, by creating a “little league” approach to golf. The 2-person scramble format allows young people of all ability levels to be part of a team in a structured league setting without the pressure of individual medal-play competition. Our goal is to create an inviting atmosphere for the young people, recreational at its core and maximizing the fun.

The San Diego County PGA Jr. League (SDCJLG) is a developmental league, which basically means that young people learn how to play the golf course by playing in matches and develop into future tournament players. The League will start in March and run through the end of May, headquartered at the Encinitas Ranch Golf Course.

San Diego County League #1 is run by John Mason, PGA Director of Instruction at Encinitas Ranch Golf Course and Jackie De- Wald-Mason, M.Ed., team manager.

Sunday 3-9-25 All teams Opening Match, Uniform pick-up @ 2pm Tuesdays @ 4:00pm- Each team plays 5 matches between 3-11 to 5-6, team schedule will be published after registration.

Sunday 5-11-25 All teams- Championship/Consolation matches Thursdays 5-6 pm- Open Team practices. Schedule subject to change based on course availability.

Online PGA Jr. League Registration begins January 7, 2025 and will be limited to the first 40 juniors Registration will close on or before 1-12-25. Total Cost is $575 (+ 3% PGA processing fee per junior). Fee subject to change prior to the opening of online PGAJrL registration. Program includes: JC Junior Annual Membership, that entitles junior to discounts on green fees, merchandise and range balls at any of the JC Resorts Properties. Juniors receive guidance from PGA Professionals, range balls at 7 team matches and all practices, and the PGAJrL #GameChanger Club ($110 non-refundable) “which includes access to their local league, their custom uniform and cool team kit gear, exclusive discounts from PGA of America partners and participation in as many seasons as desired throughout the calendar year.” The coaching fee is only refundable if the spot reserved is replaced with a junior on the wait list and it is prior to the beginning of the season. All-Star Team Eligibility Requirements – Junior must play a minimum of 4 league matches.

2024 Season Results: Team #1- Ian Cardwell, Mina Higashida, Leonidas Kromydas, Huxley Lane, Kendall and Paige Pamaran, Mason Sacco, Olivia Suh, Enzo Taylor and Alice Zhang won the 2024 San Diego County League #1 Regular Season Championship. Congratulations to all the support teams and players for an awesome year and exciting matches, this was definitely a team effort!

All-Star/TEAM CALIFORNIA- Audrey Bowden, Ian Cardwell, Lydia Chang, Madisyn Paras, Jack Robin, Sophia Shi, Dylan Shui and Emma Wang.

This year was a fun ride with a solid performance at Alhambra GC and winning the SCPGA Section qualifier. We were victorious again in the Section Championship at Arrowood GC. and advanced to the Southwest Regional in Tucson, Arizona. Winning in Tucson was a great achievement for this year’s team, we battled the golf course, two teams from Northern CA and the wind, rain and lightning to advance to the National Finals in Frisco, TX. I am so proud of this year’s team for hanging in there, never giving up and achieving amazing things- 2024 will be a year we will all remember for many years to come.
